The Exam


If you obtain an overall pass in the written papers you are invited to the viva day at the college. A pass is valid for two years.

The Clinical Viva lasts 50 minutes, comprising 10 minutes to review a case history, xray, ECG and blood results. You will be asked to present the case to the examiners and then be asked about he case for 20 minutes. The remaining 20 minutes are taken up with questions about three unrelated short cases. These may include further results/data interpretation.

The Basic Science Viva lasts 30 minutes. You will be asked questions on 4 areas, which could be from many aspects of basic science. These are likely to include physiology, pharmacology, physiology and anatomy.
