The Course

PAWS is an annually run one day course, focusing on the assessment and management of the anticipated or unanticipated difficult airway. Management is based on the DAS alogorithms and the core skills involved. It includes the use of Proseal and Intubating LMA, fibreoptic techniques, jet ventilation and the surgical airway. The course is fully recognised for 5 CME points.

The day is split between a series of short lectures and case discussions in the morning, followed by several workshop stations and a live fibreoptic demonstration after lunch.

The course is restricted to a small number of candidates to optimize  exposure to a range of skills and maintain a low faculty to candidate ratio.  The faculty are experts in their fields of interest and are highly approachable and enthusiastic.
